Sidi Shammas Rahim & Sidi Nasir Rashid (Honouring Tradition)

Sidi Shammas embarked on his studies in early 2002. He coveres a number of Fiqh and Aqida texts in the English language with a local teacher before moving on to study at the FR Insitute in 2004. Here, under the esteemed Shaykh Rasul Baksh Saeedi he has studied many sciences including Arabic, Fiqh, Aqidah, Hadith and Tafsir. Currently Sidi Shammas is teaching Dars Nizami and Fard Ayn classes in and around Birmingham, UK.


Outside of study, Sidi Shammas works full-time in a Birmingham Hospital, is the founder and Co-Director of 'Honouring Tradition', is on the board of teavhers for the Path to Salvation Initiative and is the Head Teacher for the Childrens Madrasah at The Zawiya, UK.

After recently completing his course on the commentary of the Burdah of Imam Busiri, Sidi Shammas intends to start another course in April 2013 in which he will go through the Shifa of Qadi 'Iyad. 

Sidi Nasir Rashid began his studies in 2002 studying Shafi'i Fiqh and al-Mukhtasar in Aqidah. In 2003 during I'tikaf he was invited to study with Shaykh Rasul Baksh Saeedi at the FR Institute and has since progressed considerably in his studies and has covered a number of texts in the higher sciences.

Currently Sidi Nasir works full-time as an Audiologist and teaches Dar Nizami classes at the the FR Institute and online. He is also on the board of teachers for the Path to Salvation Initiative and is currently translating a work in Logic and undertaking research on the historical development of Sufi Tariqahs.
