Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi

shaykh muhammadBorn in Damascus on the 13th of Dhul Hijja, 1382 AH (1963 CE), Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad Abul Huda al-Yaqoubi is from a noble family of scholars that descend from the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). From this household have emerged numerous renowned men of Allah who have taught the sacred sciences for many centuries. Shaykh Muhammad's father, the light of Damascus and master of the Islamic disciplines, Sayyid Ibrahim al-Yaqoubi, was one of the greatest scholars of The Levant in recent times.

Shaykh Muhammad's grandfather was a great scholar and Gnostic, Sayyid Ismail al-Yaqoubi; his father's maternal uncle was Shaykh Arabi al-Yaqoubi and his paternal uncle was the famous Gnostic, Shaykh Sharif al-Yaqoubi. Amongst his blessed ancestors, three have held the Maliki Imamate at the Grand Umayyad Mosque in Damascus - may Allah envelope them all in His mercy. 

Shaykh Faisal Hamid Abdur-Razak

shaykhfaisal profileShaykh Faisal recieved ijazahs in many of the sacred islamic sciences from several scholars and shaykhs. His most prominent ijazahs come from the noble and remarkable scholar, his eminence Sayyid Shaykh Muhammad Abul Huda ibn Ibrahim al-Yaqoubi al-Hasani (may Allah preserve him), and his eminence Sayyid Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Alawi ibn 'Abbas al-Maliki al-Makki al-Hasani (may Allah sanctify his soul).

He has lectured on a wide range of Islamic sciences to many communities around the world including, Canada, U.S.A, England, Germany, Norway, Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Turkey, Syria, Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad. 

He is also the President of the Islamic Forum of Canada, Vice-President of the Islamic Council of Imams of Canada and a member of the al-Shura Muslim Consultative Council. 

Shaykh Amjad Mahmood

Shaykh Amjad Mahmood has studied with some of the great scholars of Sham including Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi and Shaykh Muhammad Jum'uah along with many others. He studied in Damascus and Aleppo gaining much respect from his teachers and contemporaries.
He is a graduate of Manchester University in Arabic, Persian and Middle Eastern Languages. He currently teaches classes of sacred knowledge in Birmingham, UK.

Ustadha Safia Shahid

Born and raised in Glasgow, UK, Ustadha Safia Shahid travelled to Syria in 2003 to study sacred knowledge. She remained there for five years, studying Arabic at the University of Damascus and the Abu Nur Institute.

Ustadha Safia attended classes of several illustrius scholars of our time, such as Shaykh Adnan Darwish and recieved ijazah to teach tajwid from Shaykh Abul Hasan al-Kurdi. She also benefited from the company of great gnostics such as the Shaykh Ahmad al-Habbal and Shaykh Shukri al-Luhafi.

Shaykh Muhammad Yasin

Shaykh Yasin is an accomplished English speaking teacher who developed a strong interest in acquiring the traditional sciences from an early age. While actively participating in local gatherings of dhikr and knowledge, Shaykh Yasin secured basic Islamic foundations through his studies with qualified scholars, most notably our teacher Shaykh Rasul Baksh Saeedi (may Allah preserve him) at the FR Institute.                                    

Sidi Shammas Rahim & Sidi Nasir Rashid (Honouring Tradition)

Sidi Shammas embarked on his studies in early 2002. He coveres a number of Fiqh and Aqida texts in the English language with a local teacher before moving on to study at the FR Insitute in 2004. Here, under the esteemed Shaykh Rasul Baksh Saeedi he has studied many sciences including Arabic, Fiqh, Aqidah, Hadith and Tafsir. Currently Sidi Shammas is teaching Dars Nizami and Fard Ayn classes in and around Birmingham, UK.
